Originated Shipt’s first AI cart builder as a nights-and-weekends prototype; won the 2023 AI hackathon, establishing the concept behind the production “Ask Shipt” experience.

Engineered the consumer web experience for the production “Ask Shipt” AI Cart Builder, including streaming Server-Sent Events, persisted chat and shopping-list state, product swaps, cart integration, and telemetry, beating Instacart to market.

Moved add-to-cart orchestration from the browser to a validated Node.js/GraphQL backend-for-frontend, designing lean request schemas, guest identity handling, and a clean retirement of legacy logic.

Helped open home, search, and retailer pages to zip-only guests while preserving server-rendered store context and guest-to-member carts, adding structured data, sitemaps, metadata, and experiments. The work drove $7.9M in GMV impact, with a 537% increase in indexable pages and 238% more Page-1 keyword rankings on Google.

Built reusable Stripe Payment Element flows for wallet and checkout, supporting cards and digital payments with PCI-aware boundaries and automated test coverage. The rollout processed $10.5M in transaction volume.

Implemented privacy-rights enforcement across anonymous and authenticated users, with secure cookies, preference synchronization, and third-party script blocking; the documentation was distributed by Legal as the benchmark for other teams.

Modernized and scaled the platform through React/Next.js and TypeScript migrations, GraphQL infrastructure, and a gateway migration of roughly 720 redirects.

Architected, engineered, and led an effort to move heavy frontend logic to a BFF (Backend for Frontend) GraphQL layer to boost frontend performance and reduce code complexity.

Assisted in the migration from Create React App to NextJS, Tachyons to Styled Components, and JavaScript to TypeScript. These efforts led to a more efficient app and developer experience.

Worked with the marketing and design team to implement a native product advertising model to the web app. This introduced a new and significantly profitable revenue stream for the company.

Led the technical migration of the legacy Gatsby marketing site off Netlify to Google Cloud Platform, standing up new servers and CI/CD pipelines and coordinating data migration and DNS updates across teams, saving roughly $40,000 per year.

Led web development for EBT post-order modification, building banners, input modals, and error handling so EBT users can modify orders after checkout. The result was an accessible, scalable solution developed with backend and product partners.

Built performant, pixel-perfect React components that communicated with REST APIs via Redux.

Met weekly with junior engineers to mentor, investigate bugs, and pair-program together.

Collaborated with designers in Figma to brainstorm, tweak, and implement new features.
